If you’re like me, you have Verizon FIOS, but your home router got installed at one end of your house and quite frankly, your WiFi signal just isn’t reaching the nether regions of your space.
Well, fear no more.
If you have some coaxial cable outputs in various rooms of your home, you can easily convert those to 270 Mbps Ethernet connections with this Actiontec adapter. In a nutshell, you plug in the coax, plug in an ethernet cable, and power the thing up and bickitybam! You’ve got yourself an uber fast connection for whatever purpose you can imagine.
In my case, my WiFi signal was seriously compromised since it was emanating from one distinct side of my home. To upgrade my signal house-wide, I’ve plugged in the Actiontec adapter near the center of my home and then attached a Securefi Almond touchscreen router directly wired to the adapter. My signal goes much farther now that it’s centered. I’m getting far better connect speeds and signal near the back of my house and upstairs as well.
If you’ve got coax cables sitting idly around your home, this thing can convert them into uber fast connections for whatever devices you have in mind. I can imagine using this for an Apple TV, an XBOX One, or whatever bandwidth-intensive applications you might imagine.
